ABANDONED UPSTATE NEW YORK by Nicholas Long

Author/Photographer Nicholas Long ventures into complete darkness in order to shed light on how remarkable life was in these long-forgotten destinations. With only a camera and flashlight in hand, he travels fearlessly through underground tunnels, scales ladders caked with dust, and squeezes through narrow passageways in search of yesterday’s technology and relics to share with the world. Many of his works provide a raw and nostalgic insight into the past, all the while revealing how unsettling it can be travelling alone through forgotten territories of Upstate New York. From abandoned houses and shops, to the St. Regis paper Mill and the long-closed Beechnut Gum factory, Nick has only scratched the surface of what lies secluded from the public eye.
